Firefighters called as large blaze takes hold leaving Coventry garage 'destroyed'
Firefighters were called to tackle a large blaze in Coventry. It took hold at an address in Radford yesterday evening (Thursday, September 19).
Crews from Coventry and Foleshill were dispatched to the scene at around 6.40pm. Two Brigade Response Vehicles also attended, West Midlands Fire Service said.
Smoke was seen billowing from the garage of a property on Treherne Road. Crews tackled the blaze using a hose reel jet, with the fire believed to have started 'accidentally.'

Officials said the garage was 'completely destroyed.' Nobody was injured in the incident, West Midlands Fire Service said.
In a statement issued today (September 20), West Midlands Fire Service said: “We were called to an incident on Treherne Road in Coventry at 6.38pm on Thursday, September 19. Two of our Brigade Response Vehicles and a fire engine attended, crewed by firefighters from Coventry and Foleshill.
“It was a fire in a garage, measuring approximately 3m x 5m. One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire, and the garage was completely destroyed. Nobody was injured, and the fire was determined to have been accidental.”
