Firefighters were forced to run for safety as a “concrete underlining of an awning” collapsed during a fire in Longview, Texas, on August 7, the local fire department said
In a statement posted to Facebook, the Longview Fire Department said two firefighters sustained injuries and were taken to hospital, with another treated for a burn following the incident.
The fire, which took place at a paint supply store, was brought under control within an hour of the fire crew’s arrival.
Local media reported that one person was detained in connection with the fire. They were later “charged with arson and three charges of injury to the firefighters”, according to the fire department.
