Firefighters flee through raging forest blaze as 14 die in fires across Chile
Video captured the moment fire fighters in Chile fled through a raging forest fire to relative safety on Friday 3 February. Dozens of wildfires in Chile have killed at least 14 people. The rescue team in the video was tackling an inferno in Araucania when they found themselves surrounded by flames and had to run to safety. All of them survived. Officials said at least 14,000 hectares (35,000 acres) of land have been destroyed by fires, caused by a summer heatwave. Interior Minister Carolina Toha said hundreds of homes have been damaged in 39 fires. States of catastrophe have been declared.
