Firefighters Protect Angelus Oaks as El Dorado Fire Remains at 18,500 Acres

The El Dorado Fire remained at 18,500 acres and 63 percent containment on September 17, as officials reported the fire was slowly backing down at low intensity into a retardant line along Highway 38 near Angelus Oaks.

This video was posted to Twitter by firefighter Daniel Magallanes, who took part in the efforts to contain the fire. He told Storyful he captured this on Highway 38 outside Angelus Oaks at 3 am on Thursday.

The El Dorado Fire was caused by a gender reveal gone awry on September 5, officials said.
