Firefighters Report 'Significant Flare-Up' of Palisades Fire

What was described as a “significant flare-up” of the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles was reported late on Friday, January 10, with this helicopter video giving a view of the blaze a few hours later, early on Saturday morning.

LA Fire Department Capt Erik Scott told KTLA the increased activity was along the “eastern portion” of the blaze.

The LA Times said new evacuation warnings were issued for areas “east of the 405 Freeway, north of West Sunset Boulevard and south of Mulholland Drive, along with areas south of Ventura Boulevard and east of Louise Avenue in Encino.”

The fire had burned over 21,000 acres by the early hours of January 11, and was 11 percent contained.
