Firefighters Rescue Kitten From Storm Drain in Florida Panhandle

Firefighters rescued a kitten from a storm drain in Fort Walton Beach, in the Florida panhandle, footage posted November 10 shows.

Footage of the rescue shows a firefighter catching the mewing kitten, then lifting it from the drain to cheers from onlookers.

“Kitten Rescue!” wrote the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook. "The beginning audio is tough to hear – but then you will hear a cheer!

“That’s because firefighters with the Ocean City-Wright Fire Department were successful in saving a kitty that had fallen into a sewer drain near Gap Creek Bridge on Beal Parkway and deputies were on hand to capture it. Great job!” Credit: Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
