Firefighters Rescue Puppy Trapped Underground in Tulsa

Firefighters in Tulsa, Oklahoma, rescued a 90-pound Pyrenees puppy from a drain on January 1.

According to local media, the puppy, called Ruby, went missing from owner Susanne Thompson’s yard.

The pup crawled into an open drain in Thompson’s backyard, and became trapped 50 feet underground.

Footage and images by the Tulsa Fire Department show a crew carrying out the rescue mission. The firefighters successfully opened up the pipe and cleared the way for Ruby to crawl out to the nearest storm drain. Credit: Tulsa Fire Department via Storyful
