Firefighters tackle blaze after laundrette catches fire in Maghull
Firefighters rushed to the scene after a laundrette caught fire in Maghull. Crews were called to Moorhey Road at around 7.04pm on Monday, October 28 to reports smoke was coming from the building.
The fire was extinguished with a hose reel jet and firefighters remained at the scene until around 8.30pm as they monitored the temperature. Photographs sent to the ECHO show a cordon in place and firefighters outside the building.
Mersey Fire and Rescue Service confirmed three fire engines attended the scene. The fire was extinguished by 7.27pm and fans were used to clear the remaining smoke. Surrounding areas were checked by firefighters but no fire had spread. No injuries were reported.

A witness who saw the fire said: "The business has been here for many years before even I moved in just around the corner three decades ago. It’s always busy and has been an important hub in the local community. It’s very sad indeed."
