Firefighters use oxygen mask to save cat caught in burning building

This is the dramatic moment firefighters rescued a cat from a fire — and revived her with an oxygen mask.

The moggy, called Lyolya was saved from a blaze in Russia’s capital city Moscow.

In a video, a heroic firefighter can be seen attaching the life-saving device to the cat’s face.

The startled kitty lets out a few howls, but otherwise accepts the treatment as the fireman strokes the back of her neck to keep her calm.

A man’s voice in the background can be heard saying: “Her eyes look clearer now.”

A fire brigade spokesman said: “The cat was in shock. It inhaled too much carbon monoxide, its eyes were blurred.

“After it inhaled some oxygen and its eyes got clearer, we were sure that everything was fine with it.”

The video continues after the cat had been taken to a vet, where it was checked over.

The vet has recommended the cat gets a lot of rest and sleep, although there is no information about who she belongs too.
