A four-acre wildfire caused by fireworks burned near First Data Field in Port St. Lucie, Florida, on Friday, April 7.
The ballpark is the spring training home of the New York Mets and the regular home of one of its minor league teams. The fire started following the St. Lucie Mets game against the Palm Beach Cardinals. A fireworks display was scheduled following the game.
The fire was contained before midnight, according to the forest service. The fire was around a lake, and the lake’s reflection made it appear to be bigger, the forest service said. Credit: Twitter/Amanda Kiefer via Storyful
