Fireworks set off at cafe popular with young children and families
The owners of a family business said they were concerned” for their customers after a group of teens started letting off fireworks outside its café. Merseyside Police were called to reports of anti-social behaviour at Otterspool Adventure playground on Thursday night.
A spokesperson for the park's café told the ECHO how a group of teens turned up and started causing trouble outside. Last night, they reportedly started letting off fireworks close the cafe which is popular with families.
They said: “Teenagers are coming to our café at weekends and evenings, mainly around ten boys or more, on bikes. Last night they came with some girls. The girls were very polite when we spoke to them in the café earlier on. However the group then decided to start setting off fireworks.

“They started setting them off outside the front door of the café around 5pm. No one was injured but it could have ended very badly.”
Merseyside Police were called by café staff and are appealing to the public for information. The café added: “We are a family-friendly business with lots of babies, young kids and parents coming here and they could easily get injured.
“It could have been really dangerous. We were concerned for customers especially with us working with lots of kids.”
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We were called to Otterspool Adventure Centre at around 5.50pm on Thursday 26 September to reports of anti-social behaviour involving the use of fireworks by youths in the area. Patrols attended and the group had made off prior to the arrival.”
