First Aerial Pictures Of Shoreham Crash Site

The first aerial pictures of the Shoreham Airshow crash scene have emerged after flight restrictions over the site were lifted.

Eleven people died after a Hawker Hunter plane failed to pull out of a stunt during the airshow on 22 August, plunging onto the busy A27 road and exploding.

The footage shows police and investigators still working at the scene, although the road has been partially reopened.

All of the victims have been formally identified and their families told, West Sussex senior coroner Penelope Schofield has said.

Inquests into their deaths are expected to be opened on Wednesday in Horsham.

Assistant Chief Constable Steve Barry said police cannot confirm there will not be further victims but added that this seemed "unlikely" now.

He said: "We worked hard to complete the formal identification of all victims and we're pleased to have done that before the week anniversary vigils, where the community came together and showed its tremendous support."

On Sunday, two lanes on the road's eastbound carriageway were re-opened, along with one lane of the westbound carriageway.

The other lane will remain closed for the coming weeks while police continue to investigate the crash.

A minute's silence was held last Saturday, a week since the crash, in memory of the victims.

Those named so far include healthcare manager Tony Brightwell, 53; grandfather Mark Reeves, 53; footballers Matthew Grimstone, 23 and Jacob Schilt, 23, and personal trainer Matt Jones, 24.

Wedding chauffeur Maurice Abrahams, 76: IT consultant Dylan Archer, 42; web developer Richard Smith, 26; father Daniele Polito, 23; motorcyclist Mark Trussler, 54, were also among those who died.

The jet's pilot, Andrew Hill, has now been moved to a specialist hospital for treatment.
