We're used to First Dates Hotel giving us awkward moments, cute love stories and even a lesson in what not to do on a first date, but a First Dates Hotel love triangle is very rare – so it's no surprise that viewers were hooked when it unfolded on screen.

Last week, the reality series introduced us to philosophy graduate Finn and primary school teacher Georgia, who met in the hotel and forged an instant connection... which was quickly scuppered when Georgia went on her date with another man.

While that date didn't work out, Georgia and Finn couldn't run off into the Italian sunset either as Finn also had a date to go on. And viewers had to wait until this week to see how that went down.

Tonight's episode (September 19) picked up where it left off with our new favourite star-crossed lovers. While Finn was waiting to meet his match, Georgia decided to pop around to his hotel room beforehand and the two continued to explore their chemistry.

Unfortunately for Georgia, however, Finn wasn't willing to dismiss his new date so quickly.

"It's a tough one, because I feel a tiny connection here," he admitted. "I'd feel really bad if my mind was constantly pre-occupied. Who knows, she could have everything I asked for."

But Finn's date Jana quickly won over Finn (and the viewers too) when they bonded over their love of music. They even put on an impromptu performance for the other diners as Finn played the piano while Jana sang.

"When she walked in, it was obvious she is gorgeous," Finn later reflected. "It felt like a perfect date."

But it seems it wasn't quite perfect enough, as the pair later admitted that they just didn't feel that spark, with Finn explaining he just couldn't stop thinking about Georgia.

"We've had this amazing date, but at the end of it, I'm still thinking about Georgia. There was that connection which I can't put my finger on, which there wasn't with Jana," he said.

"There's a spark there and I can't wait to see where that goes. I hope she feels the same way."

With that in mind, Finn went to meet Georgia after his date to share how it went, before concluding: "It was a wicked date, and we got on really, really well... just as mates."

So to celebrate, the pair jumped into the pool fully clothed, where they shared a cheeky kiss too, naturally.

And because we all know First Dates Hotel matches are determined by the post-show update, viewers were no doubt happy to hear that the couple are still going strong and joking about marriage two months later.

Who needs Love Island, eh?

First Dates Hotel continues next Thursday (September 26) at 9pm on Channel 4.
