First Dates perplexes viewers with "wrong race" comment
First Dates singleton Ruth perplexed viewers tonight (May 24) when she revealed that she feels like she was born into the wrong race.
Early in the show, Ruth described Kim Kardashian West as her dream girl, calling her a "goddess" and "perfection", and throughout her date she revealed that she's a Carnival dancer, loves Soca music and identifies with more aspects of black culture than any other.
Speaking in her First Dates confessional, Ruth then continued to explain her feelings.
"I relate more to black culture than I do to my own culture," she said. "I think I've got born in the wrong race syndrome, where I am white but I feel more black inside, probably."
And, well, it's safe to say viewers were a little confused by her statement:

During the show, Ruth also opened up about the reasons she wanted to undergo cosmetic surgery, talking about getting her lips and bum done with her date.
"I like them, I feel more confident with them," Ruth said of her lips, before going on to confirm she had her bum done too.
"The guys I go for don't really appreciate skinny girls, they appreciate curvy girls," she added afterwards. "So I thought the surgery would make me more curvy, and make me more attractive to them.
"But I want people to recognise that I have a good mind, that I have a lot more to me than just an ass."
First Dates continues next Thursday (May 31) at 10pm on Channel 4.
