The waitress on the popular dating show credits the programme with turning around her life.
The 35-year-old opened up about her previous experiences in a Q&A with fans on Instagram.
Among the questions, one fan asked: “Is it a bad thing that I don't know what I want to do or who I am at 25?"
She responded: “Mate. At 25 I was one step away from being homeless. I had zero idea what I wanted to do. But I had hope."
She added: “Take the pressure off having the answers. You have your whole life ahead of you to figure out who you are. That doesn't come overnight. It's a continuous lesson.
"Each moment is a new experience where we get to learn something about ourselves … my mistakes have been my greatest teachers”.
The waitress has featured on the show since joining the cast in 2015 when she was 28.
First Dates has had seventeen series since its launch in 2013.
The TV star also told fans about the changes she is making in her life.
"Working on my tan, working on remembering to pack a bikini, working on having a day off, working on less filters, working on stepping outside of the box,” the star said, posting from Bali where she is on holiday.
“Working on letting go, working on lowering expectations, working on acceptance, working on my perception of other people's perception, working on my calm.”
While the star is best known for her role in First Dates, she has also appeared in two short films and in the film Essex Vendetta which also starred Danniella Westbrook.
