First details for Ghost of Tsushima sequel
Sony PlayStation has revealed the first details of Ghost of Yōtei, the PS5 sequel to Ghost of Tsushima.
Sucker Punch are once again on development duties, but plenty has changed this time around. It's 300 years after Jin Sakai fought off the Mongol invasion, and the story is now following new protagonist Atsu as she dons the mask of the Ghost.
The action has moved to the area around Mount Yōtei, where the country of Japan and the organised samurai clans have no jurisdiction.

Sucker Punch is keeping the story, and pretty much everything else, under wraps for now, but new mechanics and weapons are promised, while the game will take advantage of being built from the ground up for the PS5 (and will no doubt take further advantage of the PS5 Pro's extra power).
"We're excited to build on the visual foundation we established in Ghost of Tsushima by making the world feel even more real," the announcement reads.
"We have massive sightlines that let you look far across the environment, whole new skies featuring twinkling stars and auroras, even more believable movement from wind on grass and vegetation, and more improvements we'll share in the future."

Meanwhile, a Ghost of Tsushima movie adaptation was announced back in 2021, to be directed by John Wick's Chad Stahelski.
We've not heard anything about it since 2022, but with a new game on the way, perhaps things will start moving forward again sooner rather than later?
Ghost of Yōtei will be released on PlayStation 5 in 2025. Ghost of Tsushima is available now on PS5, PS4, and PC.
