First glimpse of 'Madfabulous' movie about the incredible life of an Anglesey eccentric
These images come from a forthcoming movie about an Anglesey aristocrat. Madfabulous traces the extraordinary life of the flamboyant fifth Marquess of Anglesey, Henry Cyril Paget.
The film features Callum Scott Howells, of It's a Sin and The Beautiful Game fame, in a "re-imagining" of the life of the young and rebellious aristocrat, while Ruby Stokes plays Henry's best friend and platonic lover, Lily. Her life is ignited by the arrival of the exuberant Henry on Anglesey.
Audiences may know Ruby from her appearance in Lockwood & Co and Rocks. Henry Cyril Paget was a young aristocrat who spent millions on fancy dress and strutted the streets of London with pink, pampered poodles. Get the best island stories from our Anglesey newsletter

He also adapted his five luxury cars so perfume would billow from their exhausts. Not only did he fascinate his contemporaries, but over the years he has fascinated many historians.
The film, which will be a "fantastical re-imagining" is set in the 19th Century and will see the young Henry arrive from France to Anglesey to lead a riotous life of splendour and extravagance.
Known for his gregarious theatrical expressions, exuberant sense of fashion and lavish social life, Paget spent a multi-million-pound fortune before his untimely death at the age of 29.
Madfabulous is being produced by production company, Mad as Birds, and directed by BAFTA Cymru winner, Celyn Jones, who is from Anglesey. Most of the film was shot on the island as well as in Caernarfon and Pwllheli, WalesOnline reported.
Callum Scott Howells and Ruby Stokes will be joined by a star-studded cast including the likes of Rupert Everett, who starred in the 2023 film Napoleon, Serpent Queen, and the BBC 's Men Up. Also in the cast are 2023 film Saltburn's Welsh actor Paul Rhys, fellow Welsh actor Tom Rhys-Harries from Netflix's White Lines, Siobhán McSweeney of Derry Girls' fame, and Steve Speirs from BBC comedy show The Tuckers.
Madfabulous is an alternative, period film which has received support from Ffilm Cymru Wales through National Lottery funding, as well as from the Welsh Government via Creative Wales.
Production wrapped up in Wales earlier this year. Its release date is yet to be announced.
