A Nottingham-based housebuilder has put the first homes on the market at a 265-home development on the outskirts of the city. Avant Homes has launched the first homes at the £77.5 million Foxgrove Village development in Clifton, ranging from £240,000 to £410,000.

It comes just days after Derbyshire Live reported that the company, which has sites across the East Midlands, entered a consultation with staff at its regional office in Chesterfield over potential redundancies. Located off Hawksley Gardens, the development comprises a mix of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom homes and features 15 of Avant Homes’ "practically designed" and "energy-efficient" designs.

Of the new homes released, Avant Homes says The Horbury is a "strong example" of its ability to deliver "flexible living space". On the ground floor, the Horbury features a large living room, a flexible snug which is ideal to use as a study or playroom and a bathroom.

At the rear of the property, there is a large open-plan kitchen dining room with modern integrated appliances and a family dining space with French doors leading to the rear garden. There is also a utility room with an outside door and a large storage cupboard.

On the first floor, the main bedroom is served by an ensuite shower room, while a large double bedroom and two single bedrooms share the use of a family bathroom. The landing space also features an additional storage cupboard and the house also benefits from a detached garage.

Avant Homes East Midlands head of sales and marketing David Warren said: “We have received high levels of interest in Foxgrove Village since announcing our plans for the site, so it is great to be able to launch our first homes for sale at the development.

“Clifton is an excellent location to live, with multiple schools within walking distance of the development and Nottingham being just a 15-minute drive away. With the first homes now released for sale, we encourage any prospective buyers to get in touch with our sales team to learn more about making their next ideal move to the development a reality.”

Following the confirmation that Avant Homes had entered a consultation with staff, a spokesperson for the company said: "We continually review our business structure, systems and processes to ensure we address the current challenges and opportunities presented by UK residential development.

"Through targeted reorganisation, we have identified that some clear regional overlap can be reduced whilst ensuring that our multi-tenure growth strategy can be better supported by a more efficient operational infrastructure. By maintaining our geographical presence we have the ability to continue further implementing our expansion plans.

"Our valued customers, suppliers and sites are unaffected by this change and we will continue to deliver on our promise of providing quality homes, for everyone. Unfortunately, the reorganisation does mean some office-based roles in our central region will no longer be required.

"We have therefore started a redundancy consultation process with those colleagues who may be impacted by this change and will be providing them with support throughout. We are unable to disclose the number of potential redundancies for office-based roles due to the ongoing consultation process. We are committed to the redeployment of people, where possible, and a number of new roles are being proposed, all of which is also subject to the consultation process."

Avant Homes is selling the first homes at Foxgrove Village from HoldenCopley Estate Agents on Tudor Square, West Bridgford, until the development’s marketing suite is launched in early March. The Avant Homes sales team are available within HoldenCopley Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm.
