A peek inside the Grayson Place development in Nuneaton town centre has uncovered where the new car park will be built. CoventryLive was invited to have a look around the construction site off Abbey Street.

This was to see how phase 2 of the Grayson Place development is taking shape. This included getting an up close view of where the new car park will be built.

Initially it was supposed to be a new multi-storey car park. But these plans were scrapped and instead it was changed to a new surface-level car park.

It will be created next to the building, which was initially known as the cinema but is now being described as a 'leisure box'. The car park will be no-where near as big as the old Co-op car park but it will provide much-needed parking in this area of town.

It will be visible from Queens Road including where the 'brick arch' stands close to the junction with Jubilee Way. The car park is set to have tanks fitted underneath to catch surface rain water.

No official date when the car park will open has been given. But it is understood that much of the phase 2 construction work will be complete by the summer of this year.
