Bosses at a new modern fish and chip restaurant in Edinburgh's city centre have given customers a sneak peak of the interior.

Landy's, replacing Byron Burger on North Bridge, is nearing an opening date and the team have released images of their brand new concept - selling traditional fish and chips within a restaurant setting.

Images inside the spacious ground floor building show how booths and high tables are set to be used throughout as well as the inclusion of a bar area - not something you see in your typical chippy.

The team also shared a short video of the progress made inside the unit since they acquired the keys with most of the interior being stripped out and replaced with modern fittings and decor.

Taking to Instagram ahead of an opening date, Landy's posted: "Sneak Peek Alert! First look at our reimagined seaside chippy! Expect all the comforts of chip shop classics, served in a space that brings together elegance of historic Edinburgh with playful nods to British seaside charm. Can’t wait to welcome you!"

It is understood the Crolla family are behind the new concept of restaurant, having operated countless successful businesses within Edinburgh and the Lothians for decades.

In January 2023 we reported how Byron's second Edinburgh burger joint closed down as the owners entered administration. At the time nine restaurants ceased trading across the UK with over 200 employees impacted.
