Warner Brothers has released the first pictures of the cast for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts sequel, featuring Jude Law as a young Dumbledore.

The studio has also revealed the new film’s title, it will officially be called Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Jude Law, who will play Albus Dumbledore in his younger days, can be seen dressed in a long blue coat and brown shoes, holding a wand with a glowing blue tip.

He’s flanked by Eddie Redmayne who stars the series’ unlikely hero Newt Scamander, alongside Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, Katherine Waterson as Tina Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein and Johnny Depp as evil warlock Gellert Grindelwald.

There are also some notable new additions to the cast pictured in the image, including Callum Turner as Newt’s brother Theseus, Zoe Kravitz, who will play Leta Lestrange, a friend of Newt Scamander and and Claudia Kim who will play a maledictus (a wizard of witch who is cursed to transform into an animal).

A synopsis for the film teases that Dumbledore and Scamander will work together to try and bring down Grindelwald in the forthcoming instalment.

It reads: “At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings."

“In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.”

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is due for release in November 2018.
