YouTube star Danny Malin has spoken about his support for the Packhorse Centre in Huddersfield as he marked the opening of a new food court bearing his brand, Rate My Takeaway.

Danny, whose YouTube channel has over 700,000 subscribers, has invested in a new venture on the first floor of the Packhorse Centre where six new restaurants opened to the public on Friday afternoon, September 13. Danny described the Packhorse Centre as the 'underdog' because it was near to the bigger Kingsgate Centre.

He said there had been a few technology glitches on the opening day but these would soon be ironed out. There are six full-time food vendors and a further three on 'rotation', the first of which is Wagyu Lookin' At?

Danny teamed up with the various vendors having previously been impressed with their food during his Rate My Takeaway visits.

"People asked me 'why the Packhorse Centre?' I go for underdogs and hidden gems. That's a bit like the Packhorse Centre because Kingsgate is next door, so it is the underdog. The owners have invested in this to make it happen. This is going to become a food destination."

Danny said he too had invested 'aspects of it', including the provision of a 'media booth' where diners can talk about/review their food on camera which could then be edited and uploaded to a Rate My Takeaway TikTok channel.

As well as the food venues, there is also a bar. The food court is open seven days a week from 11am to 9pm.

The food outlets include Birria Boyz, Pizza Pizza, Hooya Burgers, Wing a Ding, Bobby's Salt and Pepper, and Jay's Desserts.
