First look video: Lorne restaurant launches in Victoria

There is impressive pedigree behind the latest new restaurantl to land in Victoria.

Lorne is a collaboration between chef Peter Hall, formerly of Brawn and The Square, and sommelier Katie Exton, who has worked at River Café and Chez Bruce as well as The Square where the pair met.

It pairs a modern British menu with a concise and regularly-changing wine list.

Examples from the menu include mackerel with pickled cucumber, ratte potatoes and nasturtium; quail with butternut squash, barley and mountain yam; and a warm salad of celeriac, chervil, candied beetroot and sunflower seeds.
