This is the first picture of a 60-year-old man killed in a three-car pile-up on the M25 in north London.

Daniel Dayalan, from Hayes in west London, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa when the horrific incident unfolded at about 9.45pm on Saturday.

Paramedics battled for two hours to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11.43pm.

A Range Rover being driven by a 62-year-old woman hit his car and a Ford Focus at junction 24 clockwise in Enfield, police said.

She has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody at an east London police station.

She was initially taken to a hospital in Hertfordshire with minor injuries.

A 55-year-old woman who was Mr Dayalan's passenger was also injured in the smash and taken to an east London hospital where she remains in a stable condition. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

The driver of the Focus was not injured.

Mr Dayalan's post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
