First picture of two-year-old killed in accident
A two-year-old boy who died in his home in Wigan has been named and pictured for the first time. Carter Walsh died in a "fatal accident" yesterday (Wednesday, September 18).
Carter was rushed to hospital following the accident but died a short time later. A fundraising appeal has been set up in Carter's memory, calling on people to donate to help his family. The page reads: "Hi my name is Karen I am doing a go fund page on behalf of my niece Samantha who has tragically loss her two year old son Carter to a fatal accident."
A spokesperson for Bolton Coroners' Court, which covers Wigan, confirmed the toddler's name. The family's neighbours have been left heartbroken, reports Manchester Evening News.

Tributes have flooded in on Facebook. Sharon Webster Capstick said: "Heartbreaking. Poor little man! Love & strength to all the family." Dottie Booth wrote: "So sad. My heart breaks for his family. Fly high with the angels little man."
A third added: "So sorry for your loss. I've heard this happening so many times." Toni Marie Stone said: "RIP Carter, forever 2." And Vonnie Elliott posted: "Absolutely heartbreaking."
A huge emergency service response around Fisher Close, Worsley Mesnes, Wigan was launched after the alarm was raised. A North West Air Ambulance Service (NWAS) helicopter was deployed and landed on a nearby field.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 2.15pm on Wednesday September 18, officers were called to reports regarding a concern for welfare of a child on Fisher Close, Wigan.
"Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a two-year-old boy later died at hospital. Enquiries are ongoing and officers are supporting the family at this time."
An NWAS spokesman said: "We attended an incident at a private address following a 999 call at 2.06pm. An ambulance, air ambulance, response vehicle, advanced paramedic attended. A patient was taken to hospital by road."
