Fatal crash: Laura Keyes died at the scene: Met Police

This is the first picture of a young woman killed after being hit by a car at busy junction in south-east London.

Laura Keyes, 19, was struck in Creek Road, at the junction with Deptford Church Street, last Thursday.

Paramedics battled to save her but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in the Greenwich area at 10.15pm.

The driver of the BMW, a 21-year-old man, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, police said.

He was taken to a south London police station and bailed until mid-December pending further enquiries.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Her next of kin have been informed.

“A post-mortem examination was held at Greenwich Mortuary on Wednesday, December 6. We await its findings.

“Detectives from the Met's Road and Transport Policing Command are investigating.”
