This is the first picture of a woman whose death has led to three murder arrests. Merseyside Police said a woman was found dead on Hillary Drive in Crosby.

Emergency services were called to the quiet north Merseyside road at around 1.50pm on Wednesday, November 20, that a 68-year-old woman had been found dead in her flat. The death is currently being treated as unexplained as investigations continue to establish the cause of death.

The ECHO can now confirm the woman who died is Barbara Salmon, who had been living in the property for around a decade. Three people, a 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman from Southport, and a 37-year-old man from Litherland, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They have been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.

A post mortem has taken place but the results have been withheld, police said. Detective Chief Inspector Sue Hinds said: "We are in the early stages of our investigation and are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained. A Home Office Post Mortem has taken place but the results have been withheld pending further enquiries.
