Said Benrahma has joined his West Ham team-mates to train for the first time at Rush Green following his arrival from Brentford.

The Algerian winger, a dramatic domestic deadline day signing from the Championship side, was not able to face Tottenham on Sunday as the Hammers fought back from 3-0 down to 3-3, having missed the registration deadline.

Benrahma's move was slowed after an issue was flagged in his medical, the deal had to be renegotiated into a loan for the season with an agreement to buy should the issue not become severe.

From the Brentford side there is hope that, after further checks in the coming weeks, the deal could become permanent sooner rather than later.

The 25-year-old now has a full week to prepare for what he hopes will be a West Ham debut when they face Manchester City this weekend, looking to keep a run of three games without defeat going against Pep Guardiola's side.
