First Rio de Janeiro Residents Receive COVID-19 Vaccinations at Base of Christ the Redeemer

Two women became the first residents of Rio de Janeiro to receive a COVID-19 vaccination at the base of the Christ the Redeemer statue on January 18, officials said.

The women, 80-year-old Terezinha da Conceicao and 59-year-old nursing technician Dulcineia da Silva, received the Chinese-made Sinovac Biotech vaccine, local media reported.
