The first major snowstorm of the season hit Albany, New York, on December 1, with reports of up to one foot falling.
Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan warned residents to avoid driving in the snow, saying that although round-the-clock plowing was in place in the capital, that did not mean that roads were safe.
The National Weather Service predicted moderate to heavy snowfall to continue in the area on December 2.
