Snow fell in Chicago on Tuesday, December 28, breaking the city’s streak of 287 days without it, the National Weather Service said.
The NWS reported 2.3 inches of snow at its Romeoville location and 1.5 inches of snow at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.
The weather service said parts of the area could expect more snow through Wednesday and that the accumulating snow would heighten the risk of dangerous travel on New Year’s Day.
