If you're missing Death in Paradise star Josephine Jobert in a police procedural, the first trailer for her new detective show Saint-Pierre may help you cope.

Now she's made her last appearance as DS Florence Cassell in season 13 of Death in Paradise, Jobert has relocated to another picturesque destination plagued by cosy crimes.

Originally from Paris, her Saint-Pierre character DC Geneviève 'Arch' Archambault is now a local on a quaint island in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, a French territory off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada.

The first trailer for the CBC show (which you can watch at the top of the article) sees Jobert's Arch meeting the force's newest arrival from the mainland. Here comes Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector Donny 'Fitz' Fitzpatrick, played by Allan Hawco.

Exiled on the island after digging a little too deep into the affairs of a local politician, who just so happens to be his ex-wife's new partner, Fitz has a hard time fitting in at first.

He doesn't seem to be good with heights nor boats, which isn't exactly handy when living on an archipelago.

Extremely suspicious of and unimpressed by her new work pal, Arch will warm up to him to the point she chooses to stay when Fitz and a colleague are caught up in a bomb trap that may have all of them ripped to shreds.

As Arch is warned to be careful about Fitz's "demons", the upcoming series promises a gripping horizontal arc alongside the usual procedural's case-of-the-episode situation.

There's a catch, though. While the series is set to premiere on January 6 on CBC and Canadian streaming service CBC Gem, there's no word yet as to when and where procedural fans based elsewhere can watch it — fret not, we'll update you as soon as we know.

Saint-Pierre premieres on Canadian channel CBC on January 6 at 9pm and streams on CBC Gem on the same day. International broadcast details are yet to be announced.
