The first trailer for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has been released

The creators of new Harry Potter role play game Hogwarts Mystery have released the first trailer ahead of its launch.

The interactive mobile game will allow players to step into the shoes of a student at the school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Potter fans will be able to design a student avatar, receive a letter informing them they have a place at Hogwarts and attend classes like Potions and Care of Magical Creatures.

Harry Potter and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger won’t feature in game, as it’s set in the Eighties before they attended the school.

There will be some familiar faces, however, in the form of professors Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonnagall, Severus Snape and gamekeeper Hagrid as well as other recognisable residents of the boarding school.

The game is being developed by Jam City for Portkey Games which is the Warner Bros. Interactive label created for Harry Potter spin-offs.

Hogwarts Mystery is set for release later this year, and will be free to play.
