Julia Louis-Dreyfus's critically acclaimed new movie You Hurt My Feelings has released its first trailer.

The comedy stars Louis-Dreyfus as writer Beth whose longstanding marriage is suddenly thrown into turmoil when she hears her husband's honest opinion of her new book, leading her to question their whole relationship.

Written and directed by Nicole Holofcener, the film also stars Tobias Menzies as Beth's husband Don, Michaela Watkins as her sister Sarah, Arian Moayed as Sarah's husband Mark, and Jeannie Berlin as Beth and Sarah's mother.

As the trailer shows, the film questions all the 'little white lies' couples tell each other to keep the peace and whether or not this is really healthy for a relationship.

The movie premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in January and was met with rave reviews from critics, currently holding a 96 per cent 'Fresh' rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Louis-Dreyfus has been busy of late, and she can currently been seen in Netflix's You People, opposite Jonah Hill and Eddie Murphy.

The actress also appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, reprising her role from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

Louis-Dreyfus will next be seen as Valentina in Marvel's Disney+ series Secret Invasion, which is set to stream on Disney+ later this year, alongside Martin Freeman.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy last year about the show, Freeman teased that it will be unlike anything Marvel has done before: "It feels pretty different to stuff I've seen. It does feel like a little departure. Yeah, it does – in ways that I wouldn't be that able to describe. Again, I've not seen it. I've not even read all of it."

You Hurt My Feelings hits US cinemas on May 26, 2023. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
