The piranha-like Pacu is feared by fishermen in its native South America for its powerful choppers, which can rip off a man's testicles with a single bite. Astonished anglers in Russia reeled in this bizarre eight-inch (20cm) long specimen from a pond in their local city centre park. City spokeswoman Varvara Trunova confirmed: "The fish has been confiscated from the fisherman and sent for examination. According to the preliminary findings the Pacu fish is 20 centimetres long and weighs 240 grams." Experts believe the fish may have been an exotic pet that was abandoned in the lake when it grew too large. Now officials are worried that a pair might have been dumped together and began breeding.
