The bodies of three missing men were recovered from the Wilmington River in Georgia on Sunday morning, May 29, bringing the death toll from a boat crash the previous day to five people, according to local reports.
The Coast Guard said two recreational boats traveling in opposite directions collided in the Wilmington River just north of Thunderbolt Marina on Saturday morning. One boat had six people aboard and the other was carrying three people.
The Coast Guard responded to the scene and transported four injured people to a local hospital. It assisted in the search for three others, including a 37-year-old white male and two “early 20-year-old white males.” Their bodies were recovered on Sunday morning, local reports said.
