Five homes going under the hammer in the run up to Christmas

A three bedroom house in Bitterne and a flat set among the hops of the formerly bustling old Northam Road and close to the Saints stadium, are among several residential properties to be auctioned in the run up to Christmas.

These five homes are among 149 lots listed across southern England and South Wales by Clive Emson Auctioneers, based in Whiteley.

The bumper auction ends on Wednesday December 13 and live bidding 48 hours beforehand.

A detached, three-bedroom house at 25 Marne Road, Bitterne, Southampton, has a freehold guide price of £170,000 - £180,000.

Rob Marchant, Clive Emson’s Hampshire auctioneer told the Daily Echo that the property requires improvement and refurbishment works. Once completed, it would be ideal for resale or could be retained for its income-producing rental potential.

Currently let at £7,800 per annum, a one-bedroom flat at 29A Northam Road, Northam, has a guide price of between £105,000 and £115,000. It boasts a 125-year lease from 2002.

A freehold investment, with a guide price of £150,000 – £160,000 and currently let at £9,600 per annum, is a two-bedroom, ground floor flat at 288 Swanwick Lane, Lower Swanwick, near Southampton.

With a freehold guide price of £190,000-plus, a three-bedroom terraced house at 76 Kings Road, Gosport, is said by the auctioneers to “require a significant programme of upgrading and refurbishment”.

Of all the 149 lots listed by Clive Emson Auctioneers going under the hammer in December, 59 are vacant residential properties, 37 investments, 26 commercial sites, 14 ripe for development and 13 land lots.
