Five killed as plane crashes into Portuguese supermarket

Five people have died after a small aircraft crashed into a supermarket in the town of Tires, just west of Lisbon.

Portuguese media say the victims were the pilot, three passengers and a lorry driver, whose vehicle was hit. Three of the dead were French citizens and one Swiss, reports say.

The Swiss-registered plane had been en route to Marseille when it crashed after take-off from a local airfield.

Tires is about 12 miles from Lisbon.
