Five must-visit events during London Technology Week

The first London Technology week has arrived and with it comes a host of events, conferences and parties across the city over the next five days.

We have whittled the list down to five must-visit events to help you get the most out of the week and brush up on the latest topics surrounding tech.

Tech Founder Talks - 17 June - 17.00

The London Technology Week Special of the Tech Founder Talks will take place at Unit 2 Waterside, 44-48 Wharf Road with the theme of 'London As a Global Innovation Hub'.

It will feature a panel discussion from five of London's most successful startups comprising Hailo, Funding Circle, Housetrip, Duedil and Secret Sales, who have raised over £220 million between them and could be an interesting one for some tips.

FashTech - 18 June - 18.00

Many tech companies have been teaming up with fashion designers recently and FashTech is a meetup event that will take place at London College of Fashion in Holborn and it is for those who are interested in the growing world of fashion and technology, as you may have guessed from the title.

It will aim to explain why the fashion technology scene is so big in London at the moment and will provide an opportunity to be inspired, network and get a better understanding of the two worlds colliding.

Panel Debate: Data is safer in your own vault or in the cloud - 18 June - 11.30

If you are skeptical about saving all your data to the various cloud options, whether it is Apple iCloud, Dropbox or Microsoft's OneDrive then this conference may be able to help you, or alternatively, put you off completely.

The panel debate on whether data is safer in your own vault or in the cloud will discuss the security concerns of cloud computing and will take place at Olympia London.

Will Artificial Intelligence Put My Job At Risk - 18 June - 18.30

Artificial intelligence is everywhere at the moment, from manufacturers introducing speech recognition to smartphones such as Apple's Siri and Samsung's S Voice, to a super computer passing the Turing Test last week, it has certainly become difficult to ignore.

This discussion and drinks reception that takes place at Prince Philip House will talk about whether artificial intelligence will threaten your career now that computers are so sophisticated.

Retail is getting intelligent: What is possible - 19 June - 18.00

You might have noticed that Amazon will use your purchase history to recommend other products to you but in store retail is also getting clever with real time customer data and 3D rendering.

This demo event at Level 42 Canary Wharf will be run by JLAB using John Lewis's experience and data along with mentors to nurture five great startups into successful businesses, showing you live demonstrations of what is possible.
