Five north-east banks closing in next two months as dates confirmed
As bank closures continue across the country, five more branches will be shutting down in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire in September and October.
The nationwide continuation of closures has been felt in the north-east, as more and more customers opt to take their banking needs online.
Now, a further 21 banks in Scotland are set to disappear next month, with TSB, Bank of Scotland and RBS shutting down several sites for good.

In Banff, the TSB branch will be the first of the north-east banks to go, shutting up shop for good on Tuesday, September 3, leaving customers having to travel to either Buckie or Fraserburgh for their nearest TSB bank.
A week later on September 10, Ellon's Bank of Scotland branch will be next to go, with customers then having to travel to either Peterhead, Inverurie, or Aberdeen.
And towards the end of the month, RBS will be shutting its New Deer branch, with its customers required to head to the coast for the nearest branches in Peterhead and Fraserburgh.
In Aberdeen, the St Nicholas RBS bank will close down on Wednesday, October 9, with the nearest branch available at Queens Cross near Albyn Hospital.
Finally on Tuesday, October 22, Peterhead's TSB will shut up shop, leaving its customers with a trip up the road to Fraserburgh for their banking needs.
The only other confirmed north-east closure is Banff's Bank of Scotland branch, which is due to shut next year on May 8, 2025.
Previously, Bank of Scotland said in their review of the Banff and Ellon branches: "Before we close any branch, we look at how our customers are managing their money and using the branch.
"Most customers are now using our mobile app, internet banking or calling us instead, which means they are using branches, including the Ellon/Banff branch much less.
"This means we'll be closing Ellon/Banff branch and we'll explain more about how we made our decision, and how customers are using this branch on the following pages."
Several local politicians previously hit out at the closures, with Gordon and Buchan MP Harriet Cross hitting out at the decision by RBS to shut its New Deer branch.
She said: "The closure of the Royal Bank of Scotland in New Deer is a hammer blow to the community who now face travelling to Peterhead or Inverurie for their nearest branch.
"I have spoken to several businesses, particularly in sectors such as farming, who regularly rely on these services. Banks are supposed to carry out a full community impact assessment when considering a closure.
"I will be contacting RBS to ascertain whether this has been done and what measures are in place to help customers, particularly the most vulnerable in the village.
"It's completely unacceptable for banks such as RBS to leave rural residents in places like New Deer behind. No matter the percentages involved, this terrible decision will provide little comfort to customers, local businesses, charities and other community groups who depend on access to personal banking."
