All five Spice Girls to reunite for a TV special and compilation album

The Spice Girls are set to reform for an upcoming TV special and compilation album, it has been reported.

All hopes of a reunion had previously been dashed after Mel C and Victoria Beckham refused to return to the Girl Power pop group, but there has now been a change of plan with all five girls having “secret talks” about reforming since the summer.

Speaking to The Sun, an insider explained: “As it stands, they will be working together on a series of projects, which will include an album and a TV special celebrating the Spice Girls.

“And getting Victoria to agree has been a coup for everyone involved, given she has always been the person holding back on a reunion.”

The fact that Victoria, who is now an esteemed fashion designer, has agreed to dig out her “little Gucci dress” one more time is said to be a testament to “how much closer” the women have become recently, with Mel B’s bitter divorce battle earlier this year reportedly bringing the stars together.

As well as Mel’s split from Stephen Belafonte, Geri Halliwell’s newborn son, Monty, has been dubbed a “uniting force”, with the source adding: “Things between them were quite icy at the start of the year.

“But gradually the ice thawed, and Mel was the one who drove that. Mel’s divorce battle also helped to bring them back together, as did the birth of Geri’s son.

“Plans at the moment are still in the early stages, and everything involving the girls tends to be complicated because they are so busy.”

In October, Geri teased that a Spice Girls reunion could be on the cards as she admitted to struggling to unite the girls in the past, telling Red magazine: “I really pushed to get everyone back together. It got to the point where I just had to let it go.

“I still love the girls and there are other bits and bobs in the pipeline.”
