Taking a break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Scarlett Johansson is back with her musical foil Pete Yorn for a new EP, Apart, out this week. It includes a cover of The Echo Friendly’s driving rock song Bad Dreams.

Having previously collaborated on the soundtrack to the Luke Cage TV series, composer Adrian Younge and A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad are now calling themselves The Midnight Hour and releasing a vintage-style soul album today. It features Luther Vandross, Raphael Saadiq and, on the first single Questions, CeeLo Green.

Octavian’s stage name may make him sound like a tiresome public schoolboy, but he’s actually a buzzworthy south London rapper, with a smooth new single, Little, out this week.

Just before he returns for the Wireless festival, breakout rapper J Hus has put out a surprise three track EP. Big Spang includes the lively lead track Dark Vader.

Five years since their last album, hazy indie band Mazzy Star are back with a new EP this week. Still includes the minimal piano ballad Quiet, The Winter Harbor.
