Flames rip through Nissan Qashqai in Coventry as blaze sparked by 'faulty electrics'
A major Coventry road was blocked after a car burst into flames yesterday (November 27). Images revealed the extent of the fire which broke out in Willenhall.
Smoke could be seen billowing as the large blaze took hold of a Nissan Qashqai on Sunbury Road. Firefighters from Binley responded to the incident at around 4.10pm.
Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze, West Midlands Fire Service said. Around 60 per cent of the Nissan had been affected by fire, which is believed to have been caused by 'faulty electrics.'

Nobody was believed to have been injured. Police were sent to the scene and arranged for the burnt-out vehicle to be recovered.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: “We responded to Sunbury Road in Coventry at around 4.10pm on Wednesday (November 27). Crews from Binley responded, arriving at the scene within four minutes of being mobilised.
“It was a fire in a Nissan Qashqai on Sunbury Road. Around 60 per cent of the vehicle was affected by fire, which is believed to have been caused by faulty electrics.
“Nobody was trapped or injured. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Police were in attendance to assist with traffic management, and they also organised recovery of the vehicle. We left the scene at 5.01pm.”
