Flash Flooding and Possible Landslides Forecast in Fire-Affected Areas of Oregon

Residents of northwest Oregon were warned of possible flash flooding and landslides due to heavy rain forecast for areas burned by the Riverside, Beachie Creek and Lionshead fires.

This footage, shared by Bobby Corser, shows rainfall as lightning streaks across the sky over Beaverton.

The Oregonian reported that heavy downpours were expected to improve air quality but could lead to flash floods in areas recently burned by the three major fires.
