Flash Flooding Strands Motorists in Northwestern Arkansas
The Springdale Fire Department said they received “multiple” calls from stranded motorists overnight on May 4-5 as heavy rain caused flash flooding and made roads “impassable” in Springdale, Arkansas.
Footage from the Springdale Fire Department shows roads covered in water as units responded to calls.
The department reminded drivers not to go through flooded roadways.
Flash flooding was expected to continue for northwestern Arkansas into Thursday morning as rain persisted, the NWS said. A flash flood warning was in effect for Springdale until 8:15 am Thursday. Credit: Springdale Fire Department via Storyful
