Flash Floods Hit Mayer, Arizona

Evacuations orders were issued in the Mayer area of Arizona on Thursday afternoon, August 2, as heavy rain triggered flash floods.

ABC 15 reported residents of low-lying properties along Big Bug Creek had been evacuated while some bridges in the Mayer area remain closed due to the flooding. Officials had earlier warned about the risk of flooding along the scar left by the Goodwin Fire in 2017.
