Flash Floods Swamp Riley County, Kansas

Hundreds of people were evacuated from their homes in Riley County, Kansas, on Monday, September 3, after storms brought torrential rain to the state.

The National Weather Service Topeka recorded 9.3 inches of rainfall in Manhattan, Kansas, on Monday as Wildcat Creek broke its bank swamping homes and businesses. Riley County Police Department tweeted that officers had rescued at least 150 people using boats and dump trucks on Monday.
