Nothing quite beats a slap up steak dinner — especially when it doesn’t cost a penny.

To mark the launch of Flat Iron King’s Cross, for one night only the meaty giants will be offering all the cuts from a Dexter steer entirely free.

The stunt takes place on Thursday October 4 from 6pm at the group's new branch on Caledonian Road. All cuts will be complimentary – until they run out.

Flat Iron don't yet have an exact number of steaks available — they'll only find out once the cattle is cut — but told the Standard they expect the giveaway to last a few hours.

An entire Dexter steer will be used, so guests can opt for either ribeye, sirloin, underblade fillet, tri-tip or rump cap, though each cut will only be available on a first come, first served basis.

While the meat may be free, drinks and sides won't be. Flat Iron’s signature beef dripping chips will be on the menu alongside its newest addition, fries cooked in Wagyu far. Made to order ice cream will also be available from the dessert station located at the heart of the new restaurant.

Founder Charlie Carroll first launched Flat Iron as a pop-up back in 2012 and the new King’s Cross outpost will be the sixth addition to the restaurant family.
