Flavor Flav In Trouble Over Fireworks Show

Rapper and reality TV star Flavor Flav has been cited by police over his annual Fourth of July fireworks show outside his home in Las Vegas.

He has been accused of setting off thousands of dollars' worth of illegal fireworks every year since 2009.

Neighbours called to complain about this year's event shortly after it started.

Police Lieutenant Ken Romaine told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that officers confiscated more than 45kg (100lb) of the entertainer's remaining fireworks and issued him with two fireworks-related citations.

The rapper, whose real name is William Drayton, told the newspaper his neighbours won't have to worry about a disturbance next year because he is moving the show away from the neighbourhood.

"I don’t want to go to jail for fireworks," he said, adding the more than 100 guests were "having a ball" until the police showed up.

Drayton was a member of the hip hop group Public Enemy, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year.

Earlier this year, he was arrested for speeding and driving without a licence on the way to his mum's funeral.
