'Fleabag'-obsessed Victoria Beckham is a Phoebe Waller-Bridge superfan

Victoria Beckham has admitted to an unlikely celebrity obsession - she is Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s biggest fan.

The former Spice Girl, famed for her stylish life and A-list celebrity friends, said that she was a huge devotee of the creator and star of the BBC sitcom about a grieving, sex-obsessed woman whose life is falling apart.

Talking to This Morning, Beckham said: “The other day actually, I met Phoebe Waller-Bridge who I was quite obsessed with. I love Fleabag, obsessed with her. So, the fact that I got to meet her was really, really exciting.”

Starstruck Beckham is far from the only superfan of Waller-Bridge, as her comedy Fleabag won six Emmys and assassin drama Killing Eve, which she was the creator of, also picked up an Emmy and a Golden Globe.

The actress and writer also had a star turn in the US over the weekend as the guest presenter of Saturday Night Live, where she did a sketch that saw her mock Love Island.

Beckham’s This Morning interview is due to air on ITV on Tuesday, when she will reveal her beauty secrets - including why she is happy to be growing older.

She said: “I’m fine with growing older. I’m not trying to look any younger at all. I just want to look good for my age. I want to look like the best version of myself. I want to look after what I have.

“I don’t really want to change anything. And I’m okay with that. I like how getting older feels. I’m okay with how it looks, because it is what it is. Everybody is going to get older. [But] I don’t love how it [getting older] sounds.”

Beckham was the only Spice Girl not to reunite for the girl group’s tour this summer and said that her music heyday had featured some of her biggest ever make-up fails.

Cringing at the memory, Beckham said: “There have been way too many [fails]! Way too much lip liner in the Spice Girls, way too much lip liner.

“The American Music Awards was probably my worst ever make-up look. It was just a lot of everything. A lot of eye, a lot of lip, a LOT of blush but you know, it was the 90s.

“I look back at those pictures and it makes me smile. It’s been a journey, it’s brought me to where I am and made me realise that quite often, you know, less is better.”
